U.S. forces in the Middle East could launch operations within 96 hours of a presidential order, according to new reports.

American military commanders have finalized plans for new attacks on Iran while President Donald Trump weighs his next move in the conflict.
CNN reported on October 26 that U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East are prepared to begin major operations within 96 hours of receiving authorization from the White House. No final decision to launch these attacks has been announced yet.
The proposed military options target Iranian military facilities, nuclear sites, and energy infrastructure. Officials are also assessing the potential for retaliation against American personnel and installations located across the region.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly encouraged further military action. His office, however, disputes aspects of the accounts regarding recent discussions with Washington.
These preparations take place ahead of the U.S. midterm elections scheduled for November 3. Trump previously indicated that he would not authorize new attacks before Election Day. Discussions are also underway about reducing American diplomatic personnel in certain locations due to regional security concerns. Military preparations currently remain separate from any presidential decision to proceed with additional strikes.
