Caltrans crews will close lanes intermittently on the Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard this week. The work takes place in areas recovering from the Palisades fire. Drivers can expect delays from Tuesday through Friday.
On the PCH, one lane may close between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. In Topanga Canyon Boulevard, also known as State Route 27, traffic officers will direct alternating vehicle flow. This occurs about half a mile north of the PCH. The closures run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday to allow trucks to enter and exit the work zone.
The speed limit in the Topanga Canyon Boulevard work zone drops to 15 mph. Caltrans advises drivers to plan for extra travel time and consider alternate routes during work hours. Motorists should use extra caution on blind curves.
Fines in work zones may be doubled. Drivers can check current road conditions on the Caltrans QuickMap website at quickmap.dot.ca.gov.
The lane closures are part of ongoing recovery efforts in the area affected by the Palisades fire.
